Introduction
This guide will show the process of installing and configuring a terminal emulator. For Windows the tutorial will be using Tera Term which is an open-source, free, software implemented, terminal emulator. For Linux the tutorial will be using PuTTY which is a free and open-source terminal emulator, serial console and network file transfer application. Digilent uses these terminal emulators in our demos for communicating through the USB UART and Ethernet on Digilent FPGAs.
